Tripura literally translated from Sanksrit is "three cities" or "three worlds";
Rahasya means Great Secret or Enigma!
Actually the three cities indicated by Tripura signifies the Three States of Human Consciousness - Jagrat (wakefulness or waking state), Svapna (dream state) & Shushupti (deep sleep state). The underlying unchanging Consciouness in all of them is metophorically described as the Resident Godess of these three cities

This Dialogue, given by Dattatreya to the seeker Parasurama, unfolds through the medium of tales which delight and amuse, but they also open the door to the cave of wisdom and invite entry to all, regardless of religious affliation. It has been compared by the great scholar, Ananda K. Coomaraswamy, to Plato's Republic. This is the "City of Resplendent Wisdom" ruled by a philosopher-queen, understood in the ancient terminology as the woman who is liberated in this life (jivan-mukta). The citizens of these cities, seen allegorically, are all of the human faculties which have been illuminated by the Supreme Goddess.

Like The Yoga Vasistha & Ashtavakra Gita, This Treatise is Revolutionary** and a Paradox is apparent - as these Teachings are so powerful that they cannot be taught! They transcend logic, consistency, neuro-lingusitc cognition & even physical or objective conditioning (conditioning based on 1. the division of subject and object and 2. that "externailites" or objects (i.e. the objective universe) is real in and of itself - and as such exists as an independent or absolute reality). Thus the supreme assumption upon which the entire "objective" Univerise or world view is constructed is the implicit "I" assumption or the subject in various spatial dimensions (physical, mental etc.)
Ramana Maharshi points out that the world is unreal if viewed apart from the Self and real if viewed as the Self! Or the world (with all its joys, sorrows, great triumphs & defeats - including all its belief systems & perceived realities - economic, scientific, social etc. etc.) are all as real as you are. Find out if you are real, then you will also know what else is real! .... Is it possible for something to be more Profound?
